This April 22–23, Riga will welcome UN:BLOCK Europe 2025, the largest blockchain and crypto conference in the Baltics. The event will bring together leading international industry experts, entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers to share insights and debate the future of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, regulation, and innovation. Organized by the UN:BLOCK Europe 2025 team in cooperation with the Latvian Blockchain Development Association, Gravity Team, and Sorainen, the conference invites business leaders, innovators, and enthusiasts to explore how blockchain and crypto assets can drive corporate growth and transform traditional industries.

Stepping Into the Digital Future: From Fundamentals to MiCA and Beyond

Day 1 is designed for newcomers and enthusiasts. Sessions will cover the fundamentals of cryptocurrency, its real-world applications in business and daily life, crypto security, regulations, NFTs, digital assets, and fintech payment solutions. Practical workshops will guide participants through their first steps in Web3, including how to open a digital wallet and complete transactions.

Day 2 is tailored for professionals. The program will focus on blockchain development trends, the EU’s MiCA regulatory framework, licensing opportunities, compliance strategies, and best practices for sustainable growth. Speakers will include representatives from leading global exchanges such as Binance, BitMart, Gate.MT, KuCoin, and more.

Latvia as a Blockchain Hub in Europe

Reinis Znotiņš, Head of the Latvian Blockchain Development Association, notes:

“We are hosting one of the largest blockchain and crypto conferences in Northern Europe. Our goal is to attract companies seeking to obtain licenses in Latvia and establish their European offices here. UN:BLOCK Europe 2025 will give participants the chance to discover the latest blockchain innovations and Web3 applications, learn from global leaders, and connect with over 1,000 attendees—including top blockchain firms, investors, and experts. For businesses in Latvia, it’s an opportunity to understand how to leverage cryptocurrencies to their advantage.”

The EU has introduced a unified legal framework for crypto assets, and Latvia is actively encouraging foreign companies to seize these opportunities by offering competitive licensing options. As of January 2, 2025, the Bank of Latvia began accepting applications from crypto service providers, enabling companies to operate across the EU with a single license.

“Crypto assets are making headlines worldwide,” says Rūdolfs Eņģelis, Partner at Sorainen.

“The EU’s MiCA framework provides a secure path for offering these assets to European consumers. For Latvia’s financial sector, fintech and crypto are key growth areas with huge potential to attract new players, investments, and create jobs. Our past reforms in the financial sector allow us to offer smart, high-standard compliance that doesn’t slow down business but makes it safer for everyone. At UN:BLOCK Europe 2025, we’ll discuss these trends with local and international experts, policymakers, and global industry leaders. It’s the place to learn about Latvia’s MiCA licensing offer, global crypto trends, Web3, and blockchain technologies—some of today’s hottest topics in finance.”
