Viktors Valainis, Latvia’s Minister of Economics, added:

“The development of the Web3 sector is a major opportunity for Latvia to grow its economic potential in new industries. We’ve worked hard to make Latvia the most attractive place for global crypto companies to obtain a MiCA license and expand their presence across the EU.”

Rūdolfs Eņģelis, Partner at Sorainen, underlined:

“Crypto assets are consistently in the global financial headlines. With the EU’s MiCA regulatory framework, this asset class can now be safely offered to European consumers. For Latvia’s financial sector, fintech and crypto present one of the most promising growth paths - attracting new players, investments, and creating jobs and tax revenues at home.”

A Milestone for the Region

UN:BLOCK Europe 2025, held April 22–23 at Hanzas Perons in Riga, featured 50+ world-class speakers and welcomed more than 1,000 participants. The program spanned Web3, DeFi, NFTs, blockchain infrastructure, and European regulatory developments.

The conference’s mission was to strengthen cooperation between industry leaders, investors, and regulators, laying the foundation for a sustainable digital finance ecosystem in Latvia and Europe.
